The iHub Founder at the launch event in 2010

The year was 2010 and we were all at the 4th floor of Bishop Magua for the official launch of what was being referred to as the iHub. I had never been to one before and most of my friends and techies hadn’t either. We had previously been holding monthly meetings at Teleposta Towers as Skunkworks– The Nairobi Tech community. That is why I met people like Kahenya, Agosta Liko, Josiah Mugambi, Kachwanya, Room Thinker, Bankelele, Mark Kaigwa and many other people whom I have continued to interact with more over the years.

It has been 5 Years since that day and the iHub has become the mecca of the Kenyan Tech Community having grown from that one floor to now occupy almost half the Bishop Magua building.

On 7th March, iHub will be celebrating its 5th anniversary by holding the biggest celebration for the Kenyan Tech Community, this will be at the Arboretum Gardens with a series of events starting from 2pm till late in the night.

There will be a Tech Job Fair and showcase from 2-6pm . Think of it as a speed dating for techies, and a chance for everyone to demo what they are doing. We will be showcasing our story telling app Safari Tales and we look forward to you( the lucky winners of the tickets) visiting our stand.

The Party will be kicked off by Blinky Bill of Just-a-Band and Tosh who are getting the bands and DJs lined up.
