Belly fat is a layer of fat that accumulates around the waist and lower stomach. It is a major problem among women and even men and a major cause of self-consciousness and low self-esteem.
Belly fat has been linked to increased risk for heart disease and type 2 diabetes. It also increases the risk of breast cancer. Women with belly fat have a higher chance of getting gall bladder surgery at one point in their lives. It is crucial, for health’s sake, that women not exceed the recommended 35 inches at most around their waist.
What causes belly fat?
Stress raises cortisol levels which interfere with the body’s absorption of nutrients and metabolism. Cortisol also causes oil levels on the skin to rise leading to acne and break outs.
Unhealthy eating, for instance excessive intake of trans fats, sugar and wheat causes weight gain and so a thicker waist line. A diet that is high in sodium also causes belly fat.
Little or no exercise in time starts to show its results around the waist. Fat accumulates along the waist and other parts of the body.
When you eat a lot of refined sugar, the liver gets flooded with fructose, and is forced to turn it all into fat
What should you eat?
A diet rich in dark chocolate or semi-sweet chocolate, green peas, sunflower seeds, almonds, almond milk helps keep the fat away. Eat green leafy veggies.
Consume more spinach, amaranth and kale and make them part of all your meals.
Eat lean protein
Ditch the red meat and opt for chicken and fish
Lemon slices in your warm water
Take your water with lemon slices. Waking up to a glass of warm lemon water goes a long way in helping boost your metabolism and so cut belly fat.
Drink a lot of water ; two to three liters a day.
Intense work cardio for at least half an hour-long and for at least three times a week will help boost your metabolism and burn that extra fat along the waist line and in other parts of your body. Every morning, jump rope, do twenty to forty squats, and push ups.
