The annual Baby Banda Pregnancy and Baby Fair is back this year and will be happening from 2nd – 4th October at the exhibition hall of Sarit Center. It is an event that gives parents and soon to be parents the opportunity to meet and engage with brands, companies and resource people who operate in the field of parenting, mothers and babies.
There are various talks that take place over the 3 day event that enable one engage with medical professionals for advise on contraception, child safety and first aid, pregnancy, child care, its also an opportunity to get a one on one advice from Gynecologists, Pediatricians.Lamaze Midwives, Baby Banda Doula, whilst shopping for your unborn baby & older kids.
Perhaps the most exciting thing about the event is the opportunity to shop for unique Mom & baby products from both local and international baby brands at very discounted rates as well as engage the different product makers with your ideas, opinion and advice on their brands.
I have always attended the fair every year since 2010 and it always an opportunity to do bulk shopping for items like Diapers, wipes, baby oils, baby clothes etc. For pregnant mothers, its the best venue to shop for your newborn as alot of those who exhibit focus a lot of pregnant and nursing mothers. I have however written previously on the Chinese invasion of the fair with no unique African items on display.
I hope that this year will see the women at Maasai Market who sell African baby Dolls, animal hangings and bedding among others taking an interest this year. It was great meeting Ciru of Funkidz there with her unique furniture for the kids room and fittings.
Some of the interesting fun activities that take place are the diaper-thons for kids as well as a a pregnant mothers’ beauty pageant.
Entry to the annual fair is always free!
